Certifications

Abaris is proud to be the composite training center of choice for gaining the skills necessary to qualify for various certifications.  To date, we are recognized by three different organizations who provide these certifications and hope that you will take advantage of the education that we offer in your pursuit of your certification and career.
 

Here is a list of organizations and available certifications:


American Composite Manufacturers Association (ACMA)

ACMA offers Certified Composite Technician (CCT) certifications to the industry at large and in partnership with Abaris Training. The following certifications can be acquired upon completion of requisite courses using test proctors located at our Reno, NV facility. For a full listing of ACMA’s CCT programs, click here.
 

Certified Composite Technician-Advanced Composites (CCT-AC)

Required Course: (M-1/R-1) Advanced Composite Structures: Fabrication & Damage Repair – Phase 1

Recommended Additional Course: (M-2) Advanced Composite Manufacturing 2
 

Certified Composite Technician – Wind Blade Repair (CCT-Wind Blade Repair)

Required Course: (R-5) Composite Windblade Repair

Recommended Course: (R-15) Advanced Windblade Repair

CertTEC Certification

The CertTEC Basic Composites certification is a comprehensive assessment of technician skills and knowledge focused on composite history, fiber reinforcements, matrix systems, and processes related to basic composite fabrication, inspection, damage assessment and repair using methods common to industry.  The CertTEC Basic Composites certifications are accredited by the International Certification Accreditation Council (ICAC) to meet ISO 17024 guidelines.
Required Course: (M-1/R-1) Advanced Composite Structures: Fabrication & Damage Repair – Phase 1

Recommended Courses: (R-2) Advanced Composite Structures Damage Repair – Phase 2  or (M-2) Advanced Composite Manufacturing 2.

 

Performance Review Institute (PRI)

PRI currently offers a Certificate of Qualification in partnership with Abaris Training with the following certification available and new certifications to be available soon.  Testing is done independently online with PRI upon completion of the listed requisite courses.
 

General Composite Repair Technician Qualification

Required Courses:

(M-1/R-1) Advanced Composite Structures: Fabrication & Damage Repair – Phase 1

(R-2) Advanced Composite Structures Damage Repair – Phase 2

Aerospace Composite Bonded Repair Technician Qualification

Required Courses: M-1/R-1 Advanced Composite Structures: Fabrication & Damage Repair-Phase I, R-2 Advanced Composite Structures: Damage Repair-Phase 2, R-3 Advanced Composite Structures: Damage Repair-Phase 3, and M-4/R-7 Adhesive Bonding of Composites & Metals.
 

Metal Bond Repair Technician Qualification

Required Courses: M-1/R-1 Advanced Composite Structures: Fabrication & Damage Repair-Phase I and R-4 Repair of Aluminum Bonded Structures.

 

Flight Safety International (FSI) – Master Technician Program

Administered by FSI in conjunction with Abaris Training, the following composites level certification is available.
 

Master Technician – Composites 

Required Courses: M-1/R-1 Advanced Composite Structures: Fabrication & Damage Repair-Phase I, R-2 Advanced Composite Structures: Damage Repair-Phase 2, R-3 Advanced Composite Structures: Damage Repair-Phase 3, and M-4/R-7 Adhesive Bonding of Composites & Metals.
